      <image:title>Video - KEEP RIGHT</image:title>
<image:caption>For six years and counting my husband and I have been battling the Norwegian Immigration service, UDI. We are not alone. There are 10s of thousands more of Norwegian citizens not being allowed to live together with their foreign spouses in Norway. They are vilified, scrutinized and questioned about authenticity and reason. (Similar policies are found elsewhere. People denied entrance to their own countries like the UK and the EU nations like Denmark). The name of the movie reflects the requirements demanded by the immigration services. Many who fail to comply are forced to live as so-called “Love Refugees” in other countries like Sweden. These Love Refugees are being put on trial by demons of Nationalism. This movie shows our story trough the story of Rostam and Rakhsh as told by the Persian poet Ferdowsi in his epic poem Shahname (The story of kings). These are ancient stories written down by the turn of the first millennia. Rostam and his faithful companion Rakhsh sets out to save the King. Doing so they need to complete seven trials. This film depicts 6 of them, as we have yet to complete our trials.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Installation - Legacy of Weariness</image:title>
<image:caption>Legacy of Weariness is a two-screen video installation exploring the concept of a 'young soul' and an 'old body,' evoking a sense of existential tension and incongruity. The piece offers a poetic gaze into a perception of the world and the dissonance and harmony between an individual's inner experience of themselves and the physical aging of their body. It also presents a poetic reflection on the practical and habitual aspects of touch and its utilitarian nature. <image:title>Installation - Intimate Residue</image:title>
<image:caption>Intimate Residue reflects Zahra Zavareh’s ongoing exploration into the fragmented body, process, and material intimacy. This installation—composed of forged and cast aluminum pieces alongside a video sculpture—examines the body's confrontation with what it expels, such as blood, skin, or organs, evoking a subtle unease. By investigating the body’s tendency to spill over its own boundaries, both physically and metaphorically, Intimate Residue embodies themes of excess, leakage, and vulnerability. A holographic projection of the artist’s head is suspended within the installation, caught in an endless loop of effort and strain. The ephemeral quality of the projection contrasts with the solid aluminum forms, creating a dynamic interplay between visibility and disappearance, solidity and dissolution. The installation foregrounds the labor of creation, with process itself becoming part of the narrative. Traces of making—leaks, cracks, and remnants—introduce unpredictability and highlight the material's responsiveness to touch, weight, and heat. Here, the body is not merely a subject but a continuous process of reconstruction, leakage, and resistance, never fully containing itself. Through these gestures, an intimate portrait emerges: a body fragmented and fragile, yet resilient. *Photo of On the Verge Of Unseen due exhibition with Eliska Kovacikova in M3 Mengerzeile, Berlin</image:caption>

<image:title>Installation - What You Seek Is Seeking You</image:title>
<image:caption>Technology is getting more and more apt at tracking our moves and anticipating our choices. Being watched all the time can make us feel anxious. However, television and social media normalize the act of watching and of being watched. Surveillance as a disciplinary mechanism is a major contributor to my thought process. Furthermore, personal background has given me an unique perception as I have been living in the shadow of a so called “Ministry of Truth”. The elements of the installation; objects, light, video and the viewer, react to each other’s sound and movement. My ambition is to turn a condition of pure surveillance into an unpredictable connective system in order to create a complex feeling between discomfort and enjoyment. I am aiming to challenge the traditionally passive role of the observer and to melt the boundaries between the viewer, the work and the context, and to comment on the anthropocentric notion in order to create a dialogue between different components. <image:title>Installation</image:title>
<image:caption>A Held Point explores limitation as both a generative force and a site of exhaustion. Boundaries—whether physical, material, or structural—are rarely fixed; they shift, break, and reform. The installation responds directly to the constraints of the gallery space, redefining it through both form and placement. By disrupting conventional ways of navigating the space, the works challenge how the body moves, enters, and perceives its surroundings. The exhibition consists of aluminium sculptures and a video, each engaging with instability and resistance in different ways. The sculptures take on organic, fragmented forms, their fluidity at odds with the cold, industrial nature of aluminium. They push against the confines of the space, installed in ways that contort, hang, or extend beyond expected boundaries. Traces of the casting process—leaks, fractures, and hammer marks—are left visible, emphasizing both resilience and vulnerability. These remnants are not just passive traces but evidence of struggle and adaptation. The video, installed on the gallery’s low ceiling, shows a demolition vehicle tearing down a building—an image of destruction that also suggests renewal. The exhibition reflects on this tension, showing how imposed limits can sometimes drive transformation but, at other times, simply wear down those within them. By placing pressure on space, material, and the viewer’s movement, the works question what it means to persist, reshape, and navigate the conditions imposed upon us. <image:title>Installation</image:title>
<image:caption>I asked myself what can be created in a world where meaning seems to be slipping away and reality feels/is like a Kafkaesque nightmare. Embracing the nonsense is the answer that I have found. According to Albert Camus, the tension between the longing for meaning and accepting the absurdity of existence presents a challenge for artists seeking to create the absurd. The creation of the absurd requires a revolt against the search for meaning and a rejection of perpetuating illusions or hope. In my exploration of nonsense, I became particularly intrigued by Mohaml or Tazriq, a genre in Persian literature that reached its peak in the seventeenth century. This form of nonsense poetry features a strong composition and structure, deliberately subverting language conventions and logical reasoning. Tazriq doesn't imply explicit or implicit meaning; instead, it invites readers to embrace the nonsensical for its own sake. This genre can be viewed as an artistic rebellion against conventional and established poetic traditions. "Toad's Wool" is my endeavour to be centered in pure absurdity. It can be seen as a reflection of the absurd, accepting the tension between coherence and the absence of traditional meaning, as outlined in Camus' essay and is presented in a three-part mixed media installation.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Keep Right - KEEP RIGHT</image:title>

The object is presented as a mere suggestion. The artist offers a chance to become face to face with the reason for that choice. <image:title>Sculpture - Pari</image:title>
<image:caption>A hybrid figure—part demon, part angel—this work presents an intrusive guardian and elusive force. Drawing from Persian miniature, the figure evokes vigilance, suspicion, and the weight of everyday observation. Installed low above the entrance, it unsettles rather than protects: a presence both celestial and earthly, caring and obstructive. Its gaze is relentless, its nearness unavoidable—a reminder that care and interference often arrive as one. Pari was part of Auntie exhibition at Stora Galleriet Konstnärshuset Curated by Ashik Zaman</image:caption>
